Kittyhead Hat
A Free Knit Pattern by Ashley Martineau

I used one skein of bulky handspun yarn from fuzzy bumblebee to knit this hat. One skein of any bulky weight yarn will work, including Yukon, Yukon Print, and Bulky Lion Brand Chinelle. I used size 15 needles. You can make a child's size hat by casting on 25-30 stitches instead of 35.

Hat Pattern
- Cast on 35 stitches on circular needles
- Knit 19 rows
- Decrease every 5th stitch on row 20
- Decrease every 4th stitch on row 21
- Continue Decreasing in this pattern until there are 6 stitches on your needles.
- Cut yarn, leaving a 6-inch tail to loop thru the remaining stitches
- Pull tight and knot to the inside of the hat.

Kitty Ears Pattern:
- Cast on 6 stitches, leaving a 7-inch tail of yarn
- Knit 1st row
- K1, K2tog, Knit to end - continue until you have one stitch on your needle
- Cut yarn, leaving a 7-inch tail, and loop thru final stitch to secure
- To Tie ear to hat: tuck the two tails of yarn into the hat and tie into a bow on the inside of the hat.
- Make another ear (unless you want to be a one-eared kittyhead)
