This purse is designed for those days or nights out when you need to carry a few things, but want to travel light and cute!! Its only one skein of fairly inexpensive yarn, can be made in a few nights. Its great for beginners that are sick of making scarves, perfect for gifts, or if you are broke and just need something to knit.

Materials
# One Skein of Classic Elite Star (pictured in Mineral Water)
# US 8 needles
# Darning Needle

Body
CO 35 Stitches / Knit in st st (knit one row, purl one row) until piece measures 6 in. End on WS row. / Purl / st st for 6 rows, end on WS row / Purl / St St for another 6 inches / Cast off

Strap
Lie Piece Flat RS facing up, and Pick Up 6 Stitches in between purled rows. / Continue piece in st st until strap measures about 18 inches. Classic Elite Star is stretchy, so keep this in mind. It will stretch when filled) / Cast Off.

Finishing
with RS facing seam up sides.

Optional
Add duplicate stitching or a small cute button for more fun and personality!

Note
For something less stretchy, try using Mission Falls Cotton 1824.
